For Contractors

Faster paving.
Less hassle on the deck.

Master Dowel baskets are dramatically lighter than steel and arrive intact — fewer crew members per basket, no welds breaking in transport, and no secondary bond breaker step.

Field reality

Built for the way crews actually work.

  • One-person handling
Re-allocate two people from basket placement to paving operations.
  • No transport failures
Steel basket welds break. GFRP baskets arrive ready to install.
  • No bond breaker step
Smooth, naturally non-bonding surface eliminates Tectyl application.
  • Faster bid math
Fewer labor hours per joint compounds across miles of pavement.
On the deck

A four-step install.

  1. Receive & stage

Baskets arrive intact — no broken welds, no field repairs. Stage like any other basket on grade.

  2. Place baskets

One person handles a full basket. Two-person crews place faster than four-person steel crews.

  3. Pin & verify alignment

Standard pinning practice. Smooth GFRP surface — no Tectyl or secondary bond breaker required.

  4. Pave

Pave through as you would steel. Zero corrosion in service. Joints stay tight for the pavement's lifetime.

Contractor feedback
“We can easily pave longer distances with FRP baskets. We have had no issues with dowels becoming loose, unlike the steel ones with the welds breaking.”
